Far Hills, New Jersey
Project Details:
  • 7 commercial buildings
  • 6 affordable rental apartments

In 1993, Claremont Companies acquired a derelict lumber yard and hardware store off of Route 202 in Far Hills. Over the ensuing years, Claremont renovated in its entirety the seven (7) buildings located in the complex, which is now dubbed Ludlow Square. This development contains a total of 28,000 SF of commercial space, which Claremont exerted great effort to preserve the past look of the original property that has been a local landmark to Far Hills residents for more than a century. Claremont was awarded the Somerset County Historic Preservation award for this project, and currently has their office headquartered in one of the renovated buildings. Located with a picturesque view of the Far Hills landscape and adjacent to the town’s train station, the site has attracted key tenants such as the former New Jersey governor Tom Kean and law offices for the Gibbons law firm. Ludlow Square was completed in 1995 and sold in 2015.
